My birthday 2014

It was my birthday on Sunday (26th October). I received a large amount of cards from my Instagram and #Quiltypenpal friends to add to my family cards.

These last two also came with little presents.

I also received presents from my Mum and Dad and my sister and her husband.

The ones above came from my Mum and Dad.

These were from my sister and her husband.

I was a very lucky girl, wasn't I?

Halloween decorations made for a swap.

I am involved with two halloween swaps this year and these are the decorations for one of them where my partner is American, where they 'do' halloween so much more than we do in the UK!

I made these from paper, card, images downloaded from the internet, glitter, lace and buttons. I used ink pads to add the worn and slightly burnt effect.

I'll show you what else I sent and what I received in return in a future post.

Great British cuppa swap

I took part in this swap in September. Unfortunately, again, I forgot to take photos of what I sent, apart from the teabag carrier I made.

I did remember to take photos of what I received though. My swap partner, Kirsty, had envisioned me having a relaxed evening bath with a hot chocolate drink to read with my book and to wash the biscuits down!

This book is a sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, which is one of my favourite books. I'm looking forward to reading it and seeing how the author carries the story of Elizabeth and Mr Darcy.

These McVitie's biscuits are gorgeous, though you can't eat more than a couple at a time. Which means they'll last longer!

I use this owl mug everyday.

This lovely owl card has been added to my swap card wall, which reminds me of all of the lovely people I've met through the swaps.

A fabulous collection of goodies I think you'd agree?
