Where has the time gone? It's weeks since I last posted, but I have been 'working' (when I'm able).
I've added a few more pages to my embroidery journal (my first post about this journal can be found here http://elsiemayandbertha.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/journalistic-part-two.html), including photos of other people's work, Karen Ruane and Barbara Webster. Having them in a journal is so much easier than having to look them up on the internet again.
Karen Ruane's work.
Barbara Webster's work
I've also started a 'Musings' journal, which I'm using for simply stitch and other bits of art and samples (you can find my first post on simply stitch here http://elsiemayandbertha.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/simply-stitch-4-ss4.html).
The piece of fabric below has been made by me by using freem motion embroidery on my sewing machine. I've used machine embroidery thread and filled in the piece of muslin with lots of close stitches. Around the outside of the fabric I've used buttonhole lace and I've started to do the same around the insides of the holes in the piece (they are meant to be there!). I'll add more embroidery to the surface of the piece before it will be mounted into my 'Musings' journal.
Like most crafts people I have a few works in progress (WIP) here are a couple of mine!
An Easter decoration.
A brooch.
Until next time, hopefully not as long as last time!
