Chatsworth - a fabulous shopping venue.

We've been to Chatsworth  a few times, and not always to visit the house and gardens. In fact, we go mainly to visit the shops! Though the journey is rather lovely too.

Their farmshop is at Pilsley, a village, owned by the estate, a couple of miles from the main house. The shop and its cafe are in converted stud stables (where past Dukes used to breed race horses).  There's a fabulous selection of food, some from the estate and other selected from mainly local companies.

Once you arrive at Chatsworth, there's plenty of parking (for a fee) and you can walk anywhere on the estate apart from the gardens and the farmyard where you pay to get in. The stables of the house have been converted into two eateries (we took our own butties) and shops. There's some fantastic and beautiful stuff to buy, which can be hard on the old credit card. But I was good, with just a couple of things to use with my journals, which you'll see soon.

Wouldn't it be fabulous to supply a shop with your makes?
