Whitmore and Hamilton - and Oban wool shop
A bit of yarn porn for you! One of the reasons I like to go to Oban, is the wool shop that is Whitmore and Hamilton.
You can buy many of the brands they stock in wool shops closer to home, but when I'm on holiday I have holiday money, therefore I can buy!
The wool in the last two pictures are what I eventually plumped for - it was hard, so it took me a bit of time.
One highlight I thought I'd mention are the Art Yarns yarn (pictures 4 and 5). Artyarns was founded in 2002 by Iris Schreier, a celebrated knitwear author whose work appears in major knitting magazines. They aren't cheap, yes that price tag does say £39.95, so it didn't appear in my wool basket. But they are beautiful, the silk yarn in the fourth picture are fine enough to use for embroidery.
Something else to go on to my 'What I'm going to buy when I win the lottery' list!
